Zai Water Treatment Station
 

Zai water treatment station is the most important drinking water source in Amman as it constitutes 35% of its water sources. The station's daily production capacity reaches around (250) thousand cubic meters.

Zai station is mainly supplied with water from King Abdullah Canal which is fed by Yarmouk River in addition to the water coming from Lake Tiberias and Al-Mukheebeh wells. The water flows in the canal for (70) km long from the North towards the South in Al-Swalhah area. The water is pumped from Al-Ma'akhath station into King Abdullah channel in addition to the water sources from Abu Akl-Zaighan wells located beside the lifting station No. (1) At 235 meters above the sea level to Zai station at 880 meters above the seal level where the water is pumped through five lifting stations by pipes of 1,200 mm diameter for treatment. The lifting stations and the water level in the tanks are monitored automatically from the main monitoring room which is equipped with remote control system at the main building of Zai water treatment station.

After being treated, the water is pumped from Zai station to Dabouk tank located at a height of 1035 meters, then to the water distribution networks in Amman.

Miyahuna’s Zai station obtained Jordan Accreditation Certificate which equals the ISO International Specification for 2006.
