In line with long-term aspirations and visions, Jordan Water Company, Miyahuna was established in January 2007 as a national limited liability company fully owned by the Water Authority. It was entrusted with the management of water and sewage services in the Capital. The company acts under a mandate agreement with Water Authority/Ministry of Water and Irrigation. The company has about 1260 employees responsible for the provision of water and sewage services to around 2.6 million citizens in the Capital. The water and sewage subscribers' total is 430.000 and 350.000 consecutively.
We, in Jordan Water Company, manage the water and sewage services in a private sector manner by applying a competent technical and financial management adopting the improvement of services and minimizing expenses to achieve more effective supply of water, build trust and enhance relations with the customers, implement the programs of minimizing the wasted water, and launch investments and projects to keep abreast with the accelerated geographical and demographical changes and expansion in our beloved capital.
In its first year, the company sat up its action plan for 2007-2011. The action plan contained an investment of 200 million Jordanian Dinars to implement a number of projects aiming to materialize six main initiatives in the fields of dealing with the management of water scarcity, build trust with the subscribers, meet the growth requirements, and enhance Miyahuna capabilities. The most important projects of the company during this period include replacement of the damaged water connections and lines to minimize the wasted water, qualify and renovate the networks in the low-density population areas surrounding Amman.
